ZAMBIA SOCIAL PROTECTION WEEK LAUNCHED

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security has launched the commemoration of the 5th Zambia Social Protection Week under the theme, “Sustainable Social Protection for Resilience Building”.

The commemoration was launched in Lusaka and officiated by Minister of Labor and Social Security Brenda Tambatamba and will run from 17th to 21st June 2024.

Ms. Tambatamba said during this week, the country will hear and learn how government and social partners have responded to change and continue to ensure that social protection services are delivered in a timely manner.

Ms. Tambatamba said the theme embraces the fact that the world is evolving every day and new challenges are also emerging, hence the need to build a resilient social protection system for the people of Zambia.

She said the main aim of the event is to sensitize the public on what social protection is all about and how it can help the nation build resilience even in times of disasters.
