The Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) has called for the introduction of a National Procurement Policy, to address some of the challenges procurement officers are going through.
ZIPS President Daniel Kabamba said this in Lusaka today, when he featured on Christian voices’ Chat back program on the topic, “Corruption within the procurement process”.
Mr. Kabamba said that the formulation of the National procurement policy will also protect the integrity and autonomy of procurement officers in their line of work.
“Currently , there is a lot of interference in the procurement process by interested parties,” said Mr. Kabamba.
He said that the policy will also address issues of inflating prices by some procurement officers.
