World Vision Zambia in collaboration with Village steps Zambia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) that represents a shared commitment to dignity, opportunity and a better future for Zambia’s children by providing school shoes for the vulnerable.
This is in line with World Vision’s mission to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation by ensuring every child experiences life in its fullness.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, World Vision Zambia’s Nation Director, Marc Nosbach said this collaborative effort between the two organizations is critical, as it will provide more than 10,000 pairs of shoes to school going children in rural Zambia.
“Giving out a pair of shoes may seem like a simple gesture, but shoes are not just footwear, they are an equity enabler, allowing a child in rural Zambia to walk into a classroom with confidence, dignity, and sense of belonging equal to their peers,” said Mr. Nosbach.
And Christian Vision Zambia Country Manger, Wongel Banda also emphasized that Radio Christian Voice is committed to ensure that the shared vision between Village Steps Foundation and World vision Zambia is actualised by informing members of the public about this initiative to create awareness.
She further highlighted that such partnerships are essential as they reflect the tenets found in scripture which encourage believers to look after vulnerable and marginalized members of society, especially children
