BUSINESSES URGED TO CAPITALISE ON STABLE ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT

Business Consultant, Mubamba Sichilongo, has called on businesses to take advantage of what he has described as a stable business environment following recent positive economic developments in the country.

Mr. Sichilongo’s remarks come against the backdrop of the stabilization of the economy, marked by the appreciation of the Kwacha, reduced inflation levels, and the recent announcement by the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) of reduced fuel pump prices.

Speaking in an interview with RCV in Lusaka, Mr. Sichilongo said the improved economic indicators present a positive outlook for the business sector, as the cost of importing and procuring goods has reduced.

“For businesses, this is a positive development because the price of ordering goods becomes lower, and in turn, businesses can sell at cheaper prices for consumers to also benefit,” said Mr. Sichilongo.

Mr. Sichilongo explained that economic stability encourages increased economic activity, which ultimately leads to growth within the business sector.

He further expressed hope that the current stability would be sustained to allow businesses to recover from losses incurred in the recent past.
