Battle Cry for Zambia founder, Obrian Mayambu, has supported calls by the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), urging church leaders not to make political statements from the pulpit.
Apostle Mayambu said the directive is timely and aligns with God’s Word, emphasizing the church’s role as a guide and unifying force in society.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Apostle Mayambu stated that political statements should be made through other avenues such as pastoral letters and press briefings, rather than during church services.
“The church must be peaceful and maintain integrity on the pulpit by preaching the Word of God,” said Apostle Mayambu.
He stressed the need for the church to uphold unity, especially as it continues to interact with politicians who will be soliciting votes ahead of the general elections in August.
