The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has allocated K1.1 million for the construction of a medical supply storage facility at Kalingalinga Clinic in Munali Constituency.
The project, funded through the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF), is expected to be completed within six months and aims to address the long-standing shortage of proper storage space for medicines at the health facility.
LCC Assistant Public Relations Manager, Nyambe Bulumba, says currently, Kalingalinga Clinic, which serves over 300,000 residents, lacks a designated medical storage unit, forcing staff to use a small office to keep essential medicines.
Mr. Bulumba said that the new facility will enhance the delivery of quality healthcare services by ensuring safe storage and easy access to medical supplies.
“The contract has been awarded to Wadlis Construction Company, which has already taken over the site,” said Mr. Bulumba in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He said that the council will carry out regular monitoring to guarantee compliance and safeguard public investment.
