The Commuter Rights Association of Zambia (CRAZ) has officially written to the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) to protest the recent K1 reduction in bus fares for local routes and the lack of any adjustment for intercity routes.
Association President, Aaron Kamuti, expressed concern that the decision was made without consulting key stakeholders in the transport sector.
Speaking on Christian Voice’s Chatback program during a discussion on the topic “New Bus Fares“, Mr. Kamuti said the association is demanding clarity from RTSA on why the new fares were announced unilaterally.
“The association has formally written to RTSA to find out why it announced the new bus fares without consulting stakeholders,” said Mr. Kamuti.
He questioned why RTSA would implement only a minimal K1 reduction despite the recent significant decrease in fuel prices.
