MPEZENI COMMENDS GOV’T FOR WATER DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS

Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people has urged the UPND Government to remain steadfast in its efforts to develop the country, despite criticism from some quarters.

He emphasized the importance of staying focused on delivering meaningful development to the Zambian people.

Chief Mpezeni made the remarks when he received the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, Collins Nzovu, at his palace during a courtesy call.

“I appreciate the Government for its commitment to improving the lives of citizens through critical infrastructure projects”, said paramount Chief Mpezeni in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

He specifically thanked the Ministry for extending piped water to areas within his Chiefdom that had previously never had access to clean and safe water.

The Paramount Chief also acknowledged and commended the various cooperating partners supporting government efforts to enhance water supply and sanitation in Eastern Province.

And Minister of Water Development and Sanitation Collins Nzovu reaffirmed government’s dedication to delivering quality water and sanitation services to all Zambians.

Mr. Nzovu provided an update on the progress of ongoing and completed water projects in the region.

He appealed to the traditional leadership and local communities to continue supporting these initiatives, noting that the projects are not only improving access to clean water and sanitation but also creating employment opportunities.

Mr. Nzovu is currently in Eastern Province to commission and launch several water and sanitation projects.
