ZACA WELCOMES REDUCTION IN MEALIE MEAL PRICES

The Zambia Consumer Association (ZACA) has welcomed the decision by the Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) to reduce mealie meal prices, describing it as a positive move for consumers across the country.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, ZACA Executive Secretary, Juba Sakala, said the reduction is commendable and will provide much-needed relief to consumers struggling with the cost of living.

“This reduction has come at the right time, especially when many Zambians are in dire need of resources to meet their basic needs,” said Mr. Sakala.

He expressed hope that the reduced prices will be maintained over a longer period to ensure sustained benefits for consumers.

Mr. Sakala further urged millers to consider implementing even lower prices between July and August, when the maize harvest season peaks and supply increases.
