Mazabuka Member of Parliament, Gary Nkombo, has distanced himself from challenging President Hakainde Hichilema for party presidency ahead of the 2026 General elections.
Mr. Nkombo says he remains a dedicated member of the United Party for National Development UPND, stressing that his relationship with the president is intact.
Mr. Nkombo said this when he addressed the media in Lusaka today at the Zambia Police Headquarters where he reported individuals falsely circulating endorsement posters of him as Presidential candidate for the UPND, ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Mr. Nkombo said that he enjoys cordial relations with the president, despite the Head of State having relieved him of his duties as cabinet minister.
He has therefore appealed to individuals to stop circulating false campaign message of him running for presidency in 2026.
