Governance expert, Eustone Chiputa, has urged Zambians to take a more proactive role in contributing to the country’s economic development, stressing the importance of hard work and reducing over-reliance on government interventions.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Dr. Chiputa emphasized that sustainable economic growth requires a combination of strong leadership and active citizen participation.
“Every individual has a role to play in building the economy and national progress cannot be achieved by government efforts alone,” said Dr. Chiputa.
Dr. Chiputa highlighted the need for civic responsibility, innovation, and grassroots community action as vital components in turning the economic tide.
“There is need to shift from a mindset of dependency to one of productivity and by engaging in entrepreneurial ventures, supporting local industries, and holding leaders accountable, citizens can directly influence the country’s economic trajectory,” said Dr. Chiputa.
