The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) has released the Market Price Index for the second quarter of 2025.
ZPPA Principal Officer, Public Relations, Iñutu Mushambatwa, said the publication aims to assist procuring entities and other stakeholders in the description and identification of categories and products.
Ms. Mushambatwa urged procuring entities to continue submitting soft copies of names and descriptions of products not included in the Market Price Index for possible inclusion in future editions.
“The tolerable price range for goods, works, or services, defined as plus or minus 15% of the average prices, has now been incorporated in the form of minimum and maximum prices for each item,” said Ms. Mushambatwa in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
She also reminded procuring entities to comply with the requirement to submit Quarterly Stores Reports and Quarterly Reports on the application of the Market Price Index, including the Price Reasonableness Analysis used during financial evaluations.
Ms. Mushambatwa said that the issued Market Price Index will remain in effect until the publication of the next quarterly edition.
