The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) has criticized the Teaching Service Commission and the Ministry of Education for excluding the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and teacher unions from the monitoring process of the 2024 teacher recruitment and replacement exercise.
NAQEZ Executive Director, Aaron Chansa, said the exclusion of these key stakeholders has created an environment ripe for corruption.
Dr. Chansa said this in Lusaka today when he featured on Christian Voices Chatback program on the topic, “Sate of the Education Sector in Zambia”.
“The Exclusion of these key players could be the reason the 2024 teacher recruitment process was widely criticises as corrupt,” said Dr. Chansa.
He has since urged the ACC to take keen interest in the reports of corruption surrounding the 2024 recruitment process, noting that several individuals have submitted evidence to the commission.
