The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) has suspended Prochilu Contractors and Suppliers and Flashnet Systems Limited from public procurement for one year, starting December 23, 2024.
Prochilu Contractors were suspended for underperforming in the construction of a classroom block at Kaliki Primary School in Sesheke District.
In a statement issued to RCV News today, ZPPA Principal Officer – Public Relations, Iñutu Mushambatwa said despite receiving advance payments of K235,787.51 of the 423, 150.04 total contract value it signed with Sesheke Town Council, the company failed to complete the project on time, produced poor-quality work, and employed unskilled labor.
Meanwhile, Ms. Mushambatwa said Flashnet Systems Limited’s suspension follows allegations of submitting fake compliance certificates for the National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) and Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) in a tender for VMware vCentre Server licenses.
Ms. Mushambatwa has since advised all procuring entities to enforce these suspensions, ensuring no new contracts or bids are issued to these companies, effective December 23, 2024, except for existing contracts.
