The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) has suspended One Touch General Dealers from participating in public procurement for a period of two years, with effect from 23rd August, 2024.
The suspension of One Touch General Dealers follows a recommendation by the Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) against the company, on the ground of non-performance or under performance of contractual obligations in a tender for the procurement of calendars, diaries and notebooks.
ZPPA Principal Officer -Public Relations, Iñutu Mushambatwa, says brief facts are that the company was awarded a contract for designing, branding and delivery of 200 hundred diaries and 150 notebooks at a total cost of K282,500, with a delivery period of eight weeks.
“It was established that One Touch General Dealers failed to fulfil its contractual obligations and was in breach of section 96(g) of the Public Procurement Act, No.8 of 2020,” said Ms. Mushambatwa in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
She however said the suspension does not in any way limit One Touch General Dealers from performing outstanding contracts that were entered into before 23rd August, 2024.
And Ms. Mushambatwa advised all procuring entities to enforce the suspension by ensuring that they do not award contracts, sell or issue solicitation documents or in any other way invite bids from One Touch General Dealers, with effect from 23rd August, 2024.
