The Zambia Police Service says it is effectively collaborating with ZESCO to combat vandalism targeting power installations.
Police Spokesperson, Rae Hamoonga says the joint effort aims to protect the country’s energy infrastructure and ensure a stable power supply.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Hamoonga revealed that police officers have been seconded to ZESCO and will operate within the company’s security department.
“These officers will work closely with ZESCO staff to detect and prevent vandalism incidents,” said Mr. Hamoonga.
He also urged the public to play a crucial role in fighting vandalism by promptly reporting any incidents of tampering with ZESCO property to the nearest police station.
