ZP NEEDS REBRANDING

Build Zambia 2064 has called on the Zambia Police Service to uphold ethical standards in its operations in order to rebuild public trust, especially as the nation commemorates Police Day.

Build Zambia 2064 Chief Executive officer, Joseph Mushalika, emphasized that the police service should use this day as an opportunity for introspection on how to improve its image, which has long been tarnished by negative perceptions in the community.

Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Dr. Mushalika stated that there is an urgent need to rebrand the police to eliminate corruption, injustice, and other challenges that have hindered the service’s ability to maintain law and order effectively.

“Citizens expect the police to act ethically and earn their respect and trust and over-familiarity, particularly with lawbreakers, should not be tolerated,” said Dr. Mushalika.

He also stressed the critical role of the legal wing in assisting citizens with legal matters and urged that any anomalies within the system be addressed promptly to improve service delivery and enhance public confidence.
