ZNUT INSISTS SCHOOLS ARE READY FOR IMPLEMENTATION NEW CURRICULUM

The Zambia National Union of Teachers (ZNUT) has expressed confidence that the new school curriculum to be implemented in a phased manner will be a success.

Last week, the National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ), Executive Director, Aaron Chansa, said the introduction of the new curriculum should be implemented in January next year, citing a lack of preparedness by the Ministry of Education.

But Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Union Public Relations Officer, Godwin Maseka said that the phased implementation of the new curriculum will enable governmnet work on all lapses that may occur during the roll out.

“The Ministry has already updated the nation that Printing of necessary materials has commenced and teachers have been equipped with the new learning materials,” said Mr. Maseka.

He has therefore urged all stakeholders in the education sector to support government, as it implements the new curriculum for the benefit of the learners.
