The Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) has emphasized the need for citizen-centric procurement and sustainable practices to mitigate the impact of global supply chain disruptions.
ZIPS President, Daniel Kabamba, stated that procurement strategies should be designed to deliver tangible benefits to the public while promoting long-term sustainability.
Speaking to RCV News in Lusaka, Mr. Kabamba underscored the importance of integrating sustainability into procurement policies to enhance resilience.
“Investing in sustainability is crucial, especially in the face of ongoing global disruptions,” said Mr. Kabamba.
He further urged policymakers and procurement professionals to adopt forward-thinking approaches that prioritize local sourcing, environmental responsibility, and economic empowerment.
