Zesco Limited has announced that residential customers will receive at least 7 hours of power supply per day.
Zesco Limited Board Chairperson, Vickson Ncube, says this follows additional imports by ZESCO, to complement the internal generation.
Mr. Ncube said that ZESCO earlier this week indicted 4hrs of power supply daily, due to failure by the Corporation to secure some imports from one of its regional suppliers.
“This constraint has now been unlocked, enabling ZESCO to secure additional imports and critical social services such as public hospitals, universities, water pumping stations remain exempted from power rationing,” said Mr. Ncube in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He also said that ZESCO will continue to communicate transparently with all its stakeholders as the situation evolves.
