ZAMBIA STILL LACKS ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE-KATEKA

Opposition New Heritage Party says Zambia is still not economically or financially independent, despite reaching 60 years of independence.

Party President, Chishala Kateka points out that the high cost of living indicates that Zambians are facing significant challenges.

In an interview with RCV News, Ms. Kateka explained that Zambia has achieved political and democratic independence since its liberation, which should be celebrated, however, she emphasized the importance of achieving financial independence to allow Zambians to fully enjoy their resources.

“60 years down the line, Zambia is still lacking the third leg of independence, which is economic,” said Ms. Kateka.

Ms. Kateka also noted that many Zambians are struggling while much of the nation’s wealth is being allocated to foreigners, leaving only a small portion for local citizens.
