ZAMBIA REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO COMMONWEALTH VALUES

Zambia has reaffirmed its commitment to democracy, good governance, and international cooperation through its participation in the 68th meeting of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) held in London.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mulambo Haimbe, participated at the meeting, which was chaired by  Ian Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta.

During the meeting, CMAG Ministers reaffirmed their dedication to the Commonwealth Charter’s core principles, particularly in upholding democracy and constitutional order.

Mr.  Haimbe joined fellow Ministers in commending the Commonwealth Secretariat’s efforts in strengthening democratic institutions, electoral processes, and human rights across member states.

“By actively engaging in high-level discussions on governance, electoral integrity, and the rule of law, Zambia reinforces its role as a champion of democratic values,” in a statement issued to RCV News by  Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Principal Public Relations Officer, Eva Chanda.

Mrs. Chanda said that the country’s engagement within the Commonwealth also enhances opportunities for economic collaboration, investment, and technical support from international partners, aligning with its broader economic objectives.
