President Hakainde Hichilema has proposed for the implementation of a non-stop border post in the Zambezi Trans Frontier Conservation Area Kaza, to reduce the cost of doing business.
Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe are among KAZA member states that signed a treaty to protect wildlife the National resources in their respective countries.
Speaking when he officially opened the KAZA meeting in Livingstone today, Mr. Hichilema said that a non-stop border post will ensure borders operate 24hrs, and knock out bureaucracies for trade among KAZA members.
“The non-stop border post will also reduce corrupt activities and time taken to clear goods at the borders among KAZA member states” said Mr. Hichilema.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hichilema appealed to KAZA members to protect the natural resources amidst climate change.
He said that KAZA members are endowed with rich natural resources that should be preserved for future generations and tourism.
