ZAMBIA POLICE SERVICE COMMENDED FOR BRAVERY

Governance Expert, Wesley Miyanda has urged government to consider improving the living standards of Police officers across the country.

Mr. Miyanda emphasized the urgent need for government to invest more resources into the police service, stressing that improved working conditions would not only motivate officers but also help mitigate the risk of corrupt practices.

“These officers work in environments that are often dangerous and fraught with temptation, yet they continue to uphold the principles of justice and security,” said Mr. Miyanda in  a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.

And Mr. Miyanda proposed the recruitment of 6,000 additional officers this year to bolster the police force and ensure adequate security ahead of the 2026 general elections.

He underscored that this step would align the service’s capacity with the nation’s growing population and pressing security needs.
