Minister of Education, Douglas Syakalima, says the country needs leaders who can drive innovation, foster sustainable development, and navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing world.
In his speech delivered at the 11th Graduation Ceremony of the Gideon Robert University in Lusaka today, Mr. Syakalima said leadership is not just about titles or positions but about inspiring others, embracing challenges, and creating positive change.
Mr. Syakalima has reiterated the importance of empowering future leaders by nurturing and supporting institutions like Gideon Robert University, which are committed to producing leaders who will drive Zambia’s growth and development.
He has urged those graduating today to make a meaningful impact in their chosen fields.
“The introduction of free education, the extension of student loans to all public universities, among others, are all influenced by the new dawn government’s desire to ensure that education becomes a driver for our national development,” said Mr. Syakalima.
Mr. Syakalima further said the graduation theme: “Empowering Future Leaders: Celebrating Academic Excellence in Career Development” resonates with the university’s commitment to providing high-quality education up to doctoral level, positioning itself as one of the leading universities in Zambia.
