ZAMBIA COMMITTED TO QUALITY PUBLIC SERVICE

Cabinet Office Permanent Secretary for Management and Development Division (MDD), Margaret Miyoba, says Government is committed to attaining quality public service delivery to the people of Zambia.

Speaking yesterday when she and her entourage paid a courtesy call on Zambia High Commissioner to South Africa Ms. Mazuba Monze, Ms. Miyoba said the Government values quality service delivery in all sectors.

This was on the side-lines of the team’s study tour of South Africa to have an insight on how the Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC) of South Africa is organized.

She said the Government has focused more on the timely delivery of public service provision for economic transformation to be achieved.

And Ms. Monze reiterated Government’s efforts in ensuring that all programmes run smoothly for the benefit of the people of Zambia.

She noted that sending a delegation to South Africa was important so that the two countries could attain and achieve goals such as benchmarking, adopting best practices as one of the ways through which the Government and its stakeholders will achieve from the meeting, through an exchange initiative, and enhancing public service provision.

Earlier, Ms. Miyoba was part of the high-level meeting where she highlighted the importance of their study visit and the meetings they had with the GTAC officials during a study and exchange tour, which is being held in Pretoria

She said such high-level engagements provide an opportunity for knowledge sharing, interaction, and experiences with entities that have vast technical know-how on issues that border on operations.

“It is good that the South African treasury through GTAC gave us an opportunity to have this interaction to appreciate what it is doing and what we, as a country, can learn from such best practices,”  said Ms. Miyoba.
