ZAMBIA CALLS ON FRANCE TO HELP DEVELOP SPORTS AND ARTS

Government has called on France to help the country cope with the changing dynamics in the areas of youth, sport and arts.

Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu was speaking when the French Ambassador to Zambia, Thomas Rossignol, paid a courtesy call on him at his office today, to discuss the possible areas of cooperation between the Zambia and France.

Mr. Nkandu expressed optimism that the meeting presents a unique opportunity to strengthen the existing partnerships.

He said there is need for an exchange of experts and information sharing on monitoring and evaluation of youth, sport and art development programmes.

“There is need for benchmarking visits on the development of youth, sport and arts programmes”, said Mr. Nkandu.

Mr. Nkandu also called for support for ICT equipment and services as well as scholarship programmes for long and short term in all disciplines of youth, sport and arts.
