Minister of Tourism, Rodney Sikumba, is in Cartagena de indias in Colombia, leading the Zambian Delegation to the 122nd United Nations Tourism Executive Council Session and Global Investment and Innovation Forum from 13th to 15th November 2024.
The Executive Council Session will be followed by the Global Investment Forum which is anticipated to act as a catalyst for boosting investment in the tourism sector while driving economic growth and fostering sustainable development.
During the Global Investment Forum, Mr. Sikumba is expected to participate in a dialogue forum as a panelist, under the theme: “The Role of the Public and Private Sectors in Promoting Foreign Investment in Tourism”.
On the sidelines of the Executive Council Session, the Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with UN Tourism Member States to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of tourism.
The Minister of Tourism is accompanied by the Ambassador and Permanent Delegate Designate to the United Nations Tourism, Judith Mulenga, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Duncan Mulima, Director of Tourism in the Ministry of Tourism, Andrew Chilufya, First Secretary Tourism, Twaambo Muzyama, and Tourism Development and Research Officer, Anne Chingulu.
