The Zambia Consumers Association ZACA says government should invest in infrastructure and technologies that enhance the country’s ability to respond to food safety emergencies.
ZACA said this as Zambia joined the rest of the world in commemorating the World Food Safety Day being commemorated today under the theme “Food Safety: Prepare the Unexpected.”
ZACA Executive Director Juba Sakala has told RCV News today that this approach includes funding for research and development, and the implementation of advanced monitoring systems.
“Stakeholders are called upon to proactive steps to strengthen the food safety systems,” said Mr. Sakala.
Mr. Sakala said by working together, it is possible to build a food system that is resilient, safe, and capable of withstanding any challenge and can create a safer and healthier Zambia for all.
