The Non-Governmental Gender Organizations Coordinating Council (NGOCC) Board Chairperson, Beauty Katebe, has urged young women to focus on productive activities that can provide them with a sustainable income.
Ms. Katebe emphasized that there are numerous opportunities for both girls and women to support themselves without resorting to illicit activities like prostitution among others.
In an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Ms. Katebe highlighted the harmful behaviors that some women engage in, particularly during the festive season, which often lead to regret.
“Prostitution is a life risking venture especially that women are picked by strangers,” said Ms. Katebe.
She has further encouraged girls and women to explore entrepreneurial ventures, such as selling vegetables, as a means of supporting their families and improving their livelihoods.
