United Party for National Development UPND Deputy Chairperson for Elections and Campaigns, Likando Mufalali, has refuted allegations by the opposition and some stakeholders that cabinet minsters who drum up support for the party during by elections mis-use tax payers money.
Mr. Mufalali says all cabinet ministers that participate in the elections fund their campaign activities from their personal resources and rely on financial support from the party.
He said this when he featured on Christian Voices’ Chatback program on the topic “National Matters”.
“The cabinet ministers also use donations from well-wishers of the party to ensure their campaign activities progress smoothly,” said Mr. Mufalali.
He further reassured the public that the UPND remains committed to safeguarding public funds, emphasizing that government prioritizes addressing the pressing challenges facing Zambians over political gains.
