Agriculture expert Edify Hamukale has expressed concern over the suspected contamination of the Kafue River, which has disrupted water supply i parts of the Copperbelt Province.
His remarks come after Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, Collins Nzovu, informed Parliament that government is aware of the situation and has taken immediate measures to address it.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, , Mr. Hamukale stressed the urgency of containing the crisis before it worsens.
“There is a need to employ scientific methods to resolve this issue and utilize local expertise across provinces to monitor pollutants through water sampling,” said Mr. Hamukale.
