VEEP SAYS GOVT’S FIGHT ON CORRUPTION IS NOT RHETORIC

Vice President Mutale Nalumango says there is nothing wrong with the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) NOT revealing names of Cabinet ministers under investigation.

Speaking during the Vice President’s Question time in the National Assembly today, Mrs. Nalumango says investigations are not meant to be public, saying that the commission is investigating several individuals without mentioning their names.

Mrs. Nalumango was responding to Nakonde Member of Parliament, Lukas Simumba, who wanted to know why the (ACC) has failed to mention cabinet ministers under investigation for corruption.

“The Nation must trust the ACC to conclude with their investigations before any arrests”, said Mrs. Nalumango.

And Mrs. Nalumnago said the 61 containers containing medical supplies that were deliberately diverted to a private warehouse in Lusaka, have all been taken to the Zambia Medical and Medicines Supply Agency (ZAMMSA) warehouse.

Mrs. Nalumango said this when she responded to Bwana Mkubwa member of parliament, Warren Mwambazi, who wanted to  know the pace of investigations on the 61 containers diverted to a private warehouse as opposed to (ZAMMSA) warehouse.

She said that government is not ruling out sabotage on the matter, adding the it will however wait for Law enforcement agencies to conclude with their investigations.
