VACCINES ARE SAFE  – MASEBO

Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo has downplayed assertions that most vaccines administered during the child health week period are not safe for children.

The Minister said this in the National Assembly today, when she delivered a ministerial statemenet  on the implementation of the round 1 child health week.

Ms. Masebo said that all the vaccines administered during the child health week period are approved by the world Health organisation (WHO) and are safe for consumption.

“The myths around vaccines is a major contributor to the low immunization rate that stands at 64%  in the country”, said Ms. Masebo.

Ms. Masebo said that government will continue with sensitization and awareness on the importance of immunization.
