UPND REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO ECONOMIC GROWTH AND REGIONAL TRADE

United Party for National Development (UPND) Media Director, Mark Simuwe, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth, attracting investment, and enhancing regional trade relations.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Zambia’s Acting High Commissioner to South Africa, Inonge Mwenya, Mr. Simuwe emphasized government’s dedication to implementing policies that stimulate economic development, improve infrastructure, and expand opportunities for both local and foreign investors.

He highlighted key achievements under the New Dawn administration, including the introduction of free education, revitalization of the mining sector, advancements in agriculture, and increased productivity aimed at ensuring food security and supporting exports.

Mr. Simuwe further noted that Zambia’s regional trade outlook has improved under President Hakainde Hichilema, partly due to the easing of visa requirements to promote mobility and cross-border business.

“Government has also empowered local communities through decentralized development initiatives and major infrastructure investments in roads, energy, and digital connectivity to enhance Zambia’s regional integration and support the broader national development agenda,” said Mr. Simuwe.
