UKA ENGAGES INDUNA KAMBATU IN LUFWANYAMA DISTRICT

Induna Kambatu of the Lamba-speaking people in Mukutuma Chiefdom of  Lufwanyama District, has expressed concern on what he has called perceived neglect of traditional leaders by the UPND government.

The Induna says traditional leaders were better cared for under the tenure of former President Edgar Lungu, as compared to the current regime.

He said this when United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) National Deputy Chairperson, Chishala Kateka, visited him to address pressing concerns affecting traditional leaders in the area.

“We feel overlooked and unsupported under this government, especially in terms of farming inputs which have become a significant challenge,” said Induna Kambatu.

And in response, Ms. Kateka assured the traditional leader that UKA is committed to honesty and transparency.

“UKA will not lie to traditional leaders as a means to gain political popularity. We believe in speaking the truth and addressing issues realistically,” said Ms. Kateka.

This is contained in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
