TWO SUSPECTS APPREHENDED IN CONNECTION WITH ETG WAREHOUSE THEFT

The Zambia Police Service has apprehended two suspects in connection with a report of  breaking in at the Export Trading Group (ETG) Company warehouse in Lusaka’s  Chinika Industrial Area, on April 21, 2025.

Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chalabi  says  that Police received a tip-off that led to the apprehension of Sydney Muma, a 47-year-old from Kanyama Compound.

In a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Chilabi also revealed that the suspect  is believed to be one of the drivers who transported the fertilizer from the warehouse using a white MAN truck bearing registration number BAR 6490.

“Upon interrogation, the suspect led officers to Mumbwa, where the fertilizer was delivered  and later a second suspect was apprehended,” said Mr. Chilabi.

He said the vehicle used in the transportation of the stolen goods has been impounded, and both suspects are currently in police custody and that investigations into the matter have been intensified.
