Government says it has embarked on drainage construction in Kanyama constituency to cushion floods in the area.
Kanyama Member of Parliament MP Monty Chinkuli said only two main drainages are earmarked for construction thus being, one along loss Angels Road and another along lady Diana Road respectively.
Mr Chinkuli told RCV News in an interview that he is optimistic that once the construction is done flooding in the area will be a thing of the past.
‘The project has been funded by the government at a total cost of hundred million after the permanent secretary in the ministry of local government made mention to say Kanyama needed an upgrade’’, said Mr. Chinkuli
Meanwhile the lawmaker has also indicated that, the seen reduction in the number of unplanned settlements in Kanyama has reduced floods in the area.
