The Ministry of Tourism has denied ever issuing an advertisement inviting members of the hunting and conservation community to express interest in 22 hunting blocks across various Game Management Areas for 2025.
A document is circulating among members of the business community, claiming to be a call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) or a tender for awarding safari hunting concessions and conservation agreements.
Ministry of Tourism Public Relations Officer, Natalie Mashikolo, clarified that the document in question was an internal discussion draft that was shared prematurely.
“Treat the said advert with the contempt it deserves as it was intended for internal management review only,” said Ms. Mashikolo in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
She added that the ministry is taking disciplinary action to prevent similar incidents in the future and apologized for any inconvenience caused to the public and stakeholders in the conservation and hunting industries.
