Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has expressed concern over allegations by the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) that the recent recruitment of 4,000 health workers was marred by corruption and fraud.
TIZ Executive Director Maurice Nyambe has urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation into these allegations.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Mr. Nyambe noted that the Ministry of Health has frequently been at the center of corruption allegations, which undermines the country’s ongoing fight against corruption.
“The public perception of the Ministry of Health is largely negative, and there is an urgent need for the ministry to clear its name and rebuild public trust,” said Mr. Nyambe.
He further called on the Ministry of Health to ensure transparency and accountability in all its operations, demonstrating its commitment to upholding the law and combating corruption.
