THOMAS SIPALO SAYS UKA DISPUTES SHOW DEMOCRACY IN ACTION

United Kwacha Alliance (UKA) Missional Youth Chairman, Thomas Sipalo, says the  recent development in UKA, where disagreements have emerged on whom should head the party ahead of 2026 general elections, demonstrates the existence of democracy within the organization.

“In a democratic environment, members are free to choose their preferred leader, and majority decision prevails,” Mr. Sipalo has said in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today.

Mr. Sipalo said there are no infights within the party as everyone is willing to be led by those who will be chosen as Party Leaders.

“If you want democracy, you have to accept to be led by other people,” said Mr. Sipalo.

He highlighted that the Alliance has 16 political  party leaders and that only two will be picked to be President and Vice President to usher the party into the 2026 General Elections.

Mr. Sipalo said the Alliance is currently treating all the Presidents as equals until the two heads are chosen.

He has urged the Alliance members to respect the decision which the Council of Presidents is going to make  and rally behind the people who will be chosen to lead.

Mr. Sipalo  has also urged Political party leaders to accept the outcome of the votes and support who will lead the Alliance.
