The Tourism Council of Zambia (TCZ) says there is need to increase visa waiver programmes to enhance international tourist arrivals for economic growth.
TCZ Chairman Yousuf Zumla says it is important for Zambia to continue facilitating the influx of international tourists to sustain growth in the tourism sector and economy at large.
Mr. Zumla was speaking at a press Conference in Lusaka today, when he addressed the private sector on tourism cooperation between Kenya and Zambia, and the effects of the new visa regime on tourist arrivals.
“Since the initiation of Zambia’s visa waiver programme, an increase in international tourist arrivals has been noticed,” said Mr. Zumla.
He added that the border visa waiver programme which includes Kenya aims to maximise growth opportunities in the tourism sectors of both countries through joint efforts.
