The Zambia Police Service has apprehended a suspect in connection to the murder of Maureen Chama, aged 21, a female resident of Marapodi Compound.
Police Public Relations officer , Rae Hamoonga, who has identified the suspect as Samuel Himwaba, aged 24, is also the husband of the deceased who was apprehended yesterday, Deecember, 29, 2024 in Solwezi where he fled after the incident.
Mr. Hamoonga said that the suspect was apprehended through coordinated efforts by the Zambia Police Service and is currently in police custody awaiting charges.
“The service would like to commend the public for their cooperation in providing information that facilitated the apprehension of the suspect,” said Mr. Hamoonga in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today.
He further stressed that the Zambian police service remains committed to ensuring that justice is served in the matter.
