Opposition Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) President, Kelvin Fube Bwalya, has urged government to consider subsidizing essential commodities such as fuel, mealie meal, and fertilizer in a bid to ease the rising cost of living.
Mr. Bwalya warned that without subsidies, ordinary Zambians will continue to struggle under the weight of high prices.
He said this in Lusaka today when he featured on Christian Voice’s Chatback program on the topic, “National Matters”.
“So long the country is being run like a business without subsidies, the cost of living will remain high and many Zambians will continue to suffer ,” said Mr. Bwalya.
He said that governments continue refusal to subsidies essential commodities due to a tight resource envelope is not a valid reason.
Mr. Bwalya has reminded government to sacrifice for its people and ensure they can afford essential commodities
