Opposition Patriotic Front (PF) says the ruling party should re-asses the priorities and focus their energies towards reducing the cost of living, as opposed to what they have termed “killing democracy.”
PF Media Director, Edwin Lifwekelo, says the ruling UPND has failed to fulfil the promises of reducing the cost of living which got them elected into office.
Mr. Lifwekelo said in a statement issued to RCV News in Lusaka today that the political schemes being played by the party in power are not only divisive but detrimental to Zambia’s democracy and that they risk wiping out both political and economic gains.
“We recognize the desperation by President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND government over the un fulfilled promises and by those who seek to paint the PF party and it’s leaders black,” said Mr. Lifwekelo.
He said there is no point for the government to deny that they have failed since Zambia’s economy is currently in ICU.
Mr. Lifwekelo said the President must resign on moral grounds for breaking his promises and mutilating the economy with impunity.
