STANBIC TEAMS UP WITH LCC TO HELP ‘KEEP LUSAKA CLEAN’ 

Stanbic Bank Zambia Limited has donated cleaning utensils worth K140,000, to the Lusaka City Council (LCC) as part of its contribution towards the ongoing “Keep Zambia Clean and Green” Campaign.

Speaking during the launch of the “Keep Lusaka District Clean” campaign today, Stanbic Bank Chief Financial Officer, Mizimo Musokotwane, said that the Bank’s partnership with LCC is aimed at empowering local residents to charge of their environment and manage the levels of solid waste more efficiently.

She said the Bank’s contribution towards the Government-backed “Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy” campaign, is aimed at making local cities, towns, villages, public institutions and surrounding areas clean and green.

“The “Keep Lusaka District” campaign is part of the Bank’s nationwide clean-up campaign, designed to ensure local communities and trading areas remain clean and tidy to improve health and sanitation standards,” said Mrs. Musokotwane.

Mrs. Musokotwane said the Bank is pleased with the continued implementation of the campaign even as Zambia commemorates the World Cleanup Day, which falls on September 20.

“We, therefore, implore our local residents to embrace a culture of cleanliness and good hygiene to not only keep diseases away, but to enable businesses to thrive and succeed,” said Mrs. Musokotwane.

And Lusaka Mayor, Chilando Chitangala called for “mind-set change” to maintain clean & healthy surroundings .

Ms. Chitangala said there is need to  maintain and grow a clean, green and healthy environment safe for all to operate, so that businesses can thrive.
