Common Grounds Network Executive Director, David Mvula, has called on all stakeholders to uphold Zambia’s national values and foster unity of purpose in order to protect and strengthen the country’s bilateral relations, particularly during times of strain.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka, Mr. Mvula emphasized that strong bilateral ties go beyond diplomacy, serving as strategic pillars for national development, stability, and global integration.
He urged stakeholders to focus on collaboration and shared national interests rather than engaging in divisive politics, warning that emotionally charged or politically motivated reactions could jeopardize Zambia’s long-term international partnerships.
“Bilateral relations are more than just formal agreements, they are about fostering lasting cooperation that supports our national vision,” said Mr. Mvula.
He called for responsible engagement across all sectors to support government efforts in aligning international partnerships with Zambia’s core values, ensuring mutual benefits grounded in sustainable development.
Mr. Mvula further stressed the need to avoid political interference in addressing critical national matters, particularly those that have a direct impact on development outcomes.
