SAMPA CHALLENGES HH TO NAME DEFECTING MPS

Opposition Patriotic Front (PF) Faction President, Miles Sampa, has challenged President, Hakainde Hichilema, to publicly name the PF Members of Parliament who are allegedly seeking to defect to the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).

Mr. Sampa’s remarks come in response to a recent article published in a local tabloid, which carried the headline suggesting that PF MPs had approached the President to join the UPND.

But Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Sampa questioned the authenticity of the claims and called on President Hichilema to be specific.

“If there are PF MPs calling the President asking to join the UPND, he should mention them by name instead of generalizing,” said Mr. Sampa said.

He further stated that such claims could be a tactic to destabilize the opposition and mislead the public on the unity within the PF.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sampa has urged Zambian women to draw inspiration from the late Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) President Edith Nawakwi, whom he described as a staunch advocate of democracy and a fearless anti-corruption crusader.

“Ms. Nawakwi was a principled leader who stood firm on her beliefs and fought corruption without fear or favor,” said Mr. Sampa.
