The Zambia National Teachers Union (ZNTU) has appealed to government, to publicly release the list of successful candidates recruited under the 2024 teacher replacement program, rather than relying on individual notifications by the Teaching Service Commission.
ZNTU Public Relations Officer, Goodwin Maseka, said the current method of informing successful applicants individually risks breeding suspicion and undermining transparency in the recruitment process.
Speaking in an interview with RCV News in Lusaka today, Mr. Maseka stressed the importance of building public trust and accountability in the teaching profession.
“The list should have been unveiled for all to see as Publishing the full names of successful candidates in the print media would have helped promote transparency and fairness,” said Mr. Maseka.
He added that while the commission may continue to notify individuals, it should still release the full list publicly to ensure clarity and accountability among stakeholders.
