PROCUREMENT OFFICERS URGED TO ADDRESS PROCUREMENT DELAYS

Minister of Finance and National Planning Situmbeko Musokotwane has called for the need to address supply disruptions, fraud and pricing instability in the procurement sector.

Dr. Musokotwane says the procurement sector is important in service delivery, saying that it should be flawless to achieve national development.

Speaking through a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary, Dennis Chisenda, during the official opening of the 12th Zambia institute of purchasing and supply national conference in Livingstone today, Dr. Musokotwane also called for the need to develop synergies that will end procurement delays.

“Procurement experts should also up their game by ensuring that they are ethical,” said Dr. Musokotwane.

He has also urged procurement officers to  be abreast with market trends and developments for the  betterment of the sector.
